On Saturday, 10 September, State Border Guard officers detected 39 offenders at the external borders and within the country.
At the external borders 14 border offenders were detected, including:
- One foreigner found with forged documents
One Ukrainian citizen was found at the Terehova border crossing point presenting a fake Ukrainian vehicle registration certificate to border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized in the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- One foreigner refused entry to Latvia
One Ukrainian citizen was refused entry to Latvia at the Silene border control point because he did not have a valid visa or residence permit. The person was returned to the country of departure.
- Six foreigners were found in breach of the residence conditions
Four Russian, one Ukrainian and one Israeli citizens were found at the Terehova, Grebneva and Riga Airport border control points to have violated the conditions of stay (overstayed visa, no valid visa or residence permit, no valid travel document) in Schengen area countries. No administrative proceedings were initiated against one Russian and one Israeli citizen, the others were held administratively liable.
- Three Latvian citizens were refused exit from the country
Three Latvian citizens were found at the Riga Airport border control point without valid travel documents (documents invalid due to change of surname). They were refused exit from the country.
Four persons were found in breach of the rules of entry or residence during immigration control measures within the country: two Lithuanian, one Belarusian and one Estonian citizen.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 21 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - seven Russian, four Latvian, three Belarusian, three Ukrainian, one Estonian, one Lithuanian, one Bulgarian and one Tajik citizen.
