On Thursday, 11th of August, the State Border Guard officers had detected 45 offenders at the external borders and inside the country.

At the external borders 24 border offenders were detected, including:

  • One wanted person detained

A Latvian national is detected at Riga Airport border control point who was wanted by the police. The person was detained and handed over to the State Police.

  • Two foreign nationals refused entry to Latvia

One Russian and one Uzbek citizen were refused entry to Latvia at the Paternieki border control point because the foreigners did not have valid visas or residence permits. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

 

  • Five foreigners were found in breach of their residence conditions

Two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Grebnevo, Terehova, Paternieki and Silene border control  points for violation of the conditions of stay (overstay of visa, no valid visa or residence permit) in the Schengen area countries. They were held administratively liable.

  • Five Latvian citizens were refused exit

At the Riga Airport border control point, three Latvian citizens departing for the United Kingdom were found to have documents not valid for departure to the United Kingdom and two Latvian citizens who did not have valid travel documents (documents invalid due to change of surname). They were refused exit from the country.

Three persons were found in breach of the rules on entry or residence during immigration control measures within the country: two Lithuanian and one Uzbek citizen.

For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 18 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - five Belarusian, four Moldovan, three Latvian, two Russian, one Estonian, one Lithuanian, one Ukrainian and one Chinese citizen.
