On Sunday, 11 September, State Border Guard officers detected 34 offenders at the external borders and within the country.

At the external borders 13 border offenders were detected, including:

  • One foreigner refused entry to Latvia

One Russian citizen was refused entry to Latvia at a lone border control point because he did not have a valid visa or residence permit. The person was returned to the country of departure.

  • One foreigner was found in breach of the residence conditions

One Russian citizen was detected at the Terehova border control point for violation of the conditions of stay (overstay of visa) in Schengen area countries. The person was held administratively liable.

Five persons were found in breach of the rules of entry or residence when carrying out immigration control measures within the country: two Lithuanian, one Estonian, one Turkish and one Uzbek citizen.

For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 16 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - four Belarusian, four Russian, three Ukrainian, two Latvian, one Lithuanian, one Azerbaijani and one Kyrgyz citizen.
