On Friday, 12 August, 2022 officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 81 offender on both external boarders and within the country.

34 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 6 foreigners:

at the “Vientuļi”, “Terehova” and “Riga” Airport border control points four citizens of Russia, one citizen of Tajikistan and one citizen of Kyrgyzstan were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia, as persons were not in a possession of valid visas or residence permits. Persons were returned to the country of exit;

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area was violated by 18 foreigners:

at “Grebņeva”, “Pāternieki” and “Riga” Airport border control points twelve citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Armenia, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Tajikistan and one citizen of Georgia, who have violated conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa, no valid visa or residence permit). Proceedings in three administrative violation cases of citizens of Uzbekistan and Armenia were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 citizens of Latvia

one citizen of Latvia departing from the Republic of Latvia without a valid travel document (the document has expired) was detected at the “Silene” border crossing point, while and the “Riga” Airport border crossing point one citizen of Latvia who was an minor leaving for Istanbul, without the other parent’s notarized consent for independent departure from the country was detected. Both persons were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 17 persons - seven citizens of Estonia, six citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Kazakhstan and one citizen of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, 30 persons were subjected to administrative liability or refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Russia, five citizens of Estonia, four citizens of Lithuania, four citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Kazakhstan, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one citizen of Moldova and one citizen of Poland.
