On Tuesday, March 12, 12 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 316 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 2 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one - of India were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizen of India was not initiated, the citizen of Uzbekistan was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Russia, two – of Georgia and one – Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, two - of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one- of Estonia, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
