On Tuesday, February 13, officials of the State Border Guard did not detect any attempts to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border by persons, while a total 5 persons have been stopped from illegally crossing the state border during this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

8 trespassers were detected at external borders, including: entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners. At the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, as well as to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of India, two – of Ukraine, one – of Cuba and one – of Syria.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Georgia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Moldova.
