On Sunday, August 14, 2022 officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 43 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
16 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- two foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the "Terehova" border control point, one citizen of Ukraine, who presented a forged driver’s license from Ukraine to the border guards, was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged document. As part of the criminal proceeding, forged document was confiscated.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 11 foreigners
at the "Terehova" and "Vientuļi" border control points, entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, as well as two citizens of Moldova, as persons could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. Persons were returned to the country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by one foreigner:
at the "Riga" Airport border control point one citizen of Russia who has violated the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa) was detected. Person is subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by six people—three citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Estonia, and one citizen of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 people were subjected to administrative liability or refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia—eight citizens of Russia, four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Israel, one citizen of Romania, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Germany.
