On Thursday, 17th of November, State Border Guard officers had detected 47 offenders at the external borders and within the country.

14 border offenders were detected at the external borders, including:

  • Six foreigners were refused entry to Latvia

One Ukrainian and one Russian citizen were refused entry to Latvia at the Vientuli, Terehova and Riga Airport border control points because they did not have valid visas or residence permits, and one Azerbaijani citizen because the foreigner could not justify the purpose of entry and stay. Three other Russian citizens were refused entry to Latvia for the security reasons. They were returned to the country of departure.

In the course of immigration control measures within the country, six persons were found in breach of the rules on entry or residence - three Estonian, two Russian and one Azerbaijani citizens.

For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held administratively liable or refused to cross the border 25 persons - seven Belarusian, five Ukrainian, four Latvian, three Moldovan, two Lithuanian, one Israeli, one Kazakh, one Tajik and one German citizen.
