On Tuesday, June 18, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 22 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 2468 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
45 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 19 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
- Forged documents were found on one foreigner
At the Pāternieki border control point, one citizen of Kazakhstan was entering Latvia with a car and a trailer, who presented a forged Azerbaijan International vehicle insurance policies. The person has been charged administratively and the forged document has been taken away.
- Entry into Latvia was denied to nine foreigners
Two citizens of Moldova were denied entry into Latvia at the border control point of Riga Airport because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence. Three citizens of Russia were denied entry into Latvia at the Grebņeva border control point, because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residential permit, at the same time entry into Latvia was denied at the Terehova and Pāternieku border control points to one citizen of Russia, two citizens of Belarus and one citizen of Israel for security reasons. They were returned to the countries of departure.
- Two foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
One citizen of Serbia and one citizen of Uzbekistan were found to have violated the conditions of residence (they did not have a valid visa or a residence permit, they have exceeded the visa-free period of residence) in the Schengen area countries. They have been administratively charged for the aforementioned offense.
- Two persons were prohibited from leaving the country
One citizen of Latvia didn’t have a valid travel document while traveling to the United Kingdom as well as one citizen of of Latvia who hasn’t reached the age of 18, who didn’t have at least one parent’s notarized consent to independently leave the country. They were prohibited from leaving the state.
During imigration control measures in the country, violation of entry or residence were found on nine persons – three citizens of Russia, two of Lithuania, one of Morocco, one of Estonia, one of Kyrgyzstan and one of Slovakia.
Officials of the State Border Guard have administratively charged 17 persons or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - 11 citizens of Belarus, one of Latvia, one of Russia, one of Lithuania, one of Kyrgyzstan, one of Romania and one of Tajikistan.
