On Friday, July 19, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 47 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3245 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.

50 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 29 border violators were found on the external borders, including:

• One foreigner was found with forged documents.

At the Terehova border control point, one Moldovan citizen leaving Latvia was found to have presented a fake Moldovan driver's license to the border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of a forged document. The forged document was removed as part of the criminal process.

• Entry into Latvia was denied to 11 foreigners.

At the border control points of Grebņeva, Terehova, Pāternieki and Riga airport, two Russian citizens were denied entry into Latvia because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, one Moldovan and two Azerbaijani citizens, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, and entry into Latvia was denied for three Russian, one Moldovan, one Ukrainian and one Belarusian citizen for security reasons. The aforementioned persons were returned to the countries of departure.

• Violations of the conditions of residence were found for 12 foreigners.

One citizen of Kazakhstan, two of Russia, three of Ukraine, three of Uzbekistan, two of Pakistan and one of Belarus were found at the border control point of Pāternieku and Riga Airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the residence specified in the visa-free regime time) in Schengen area countries. The proceedings in the case of one Ukrainian and one Uzbek citizen's administrative violation were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were found for seven persons - six citizens of Lithuania and one citizen of Russia.

Officials of the State Border Guard have called 14 persons to administrative responsibility or prohibited them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational means of operation - four citizens of Moldova, two of Belarus, two of Uzbekistan, two of Lithuania, one of Latvia, one of Kyrgyzstan, one of Poland and one of Serbia.
