On Wednesday, June 19, officials of the State Border Guard prevented 0 people from illegally crossing crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 2468 people have been prevented from crossing the border illegally this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
39 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 11 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
- Entry into Latvia was denied to five foreigners
Three citizens of Moldova and one citizen of Tajikistan were denied entry into Latvia at the Terehova and Riga airport border control points, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, as well as one Russian citizen due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- Two foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
At the Pāternieki border control point and Riga Airport, one citizen of Belarus and one citizen of Georgia were found to have violated the conditions of residence (exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the countries of the Schengen area. The proceedings in the case of the Georgian citizen's administrative violation were not initiated, the Belarusian citizen was charged administratively.
During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for five persons - two citizens of Uzbekistan, one of Russia, one of Estonia and one of Ukraine.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have administratiely charged or prohibited 23 persons from crossing the border - 10 from Belarus, four from Latvia, two from Tajikistan, one from Russia, one from Lithuania, one from Kyrgyzstan, one from Montenegro, one from Moldova, one from Romania and one from for a citizen of Uzbekistan.
