On Saturday, July 20, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 30 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3275 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
48 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 8 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents.
One Uzbek citizen leaving Latvia with a truck and a trailer was detected at the Grebņeva border control point, who presented forged Montenegro International Vehicle Insurance policies to the border guards. The person was brought to administrative responsibility. As part of the administrative process, the forged documents have been removed.
• Entry into Latvia was denied to 12 foreigners.
Two Russian citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the border control points of Grebņeva, Terehova, Pāternieki and Riga airports, because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or a residence permit, four Moldovan citizens, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, two Moldovan citizens, because the foreigners did not have valid travel documents documents, as well as entry into Latvia was denied to one citizen of Belarus and three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• Three foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence.
At the border control point of Terehova, Pāternieki and Riga airports, one Kazakhstani and two Russian citizens were found to have violated the conditions of residence (no valid visa or residence permit, overstaying the visa, no valid travel document) in the countries of the Schengen area. The proceedings in the case of one Russian citizen's administrative violation were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
• One Latvian citizen is prohibited from leaving the country.
One Latvian citizen traveling to the United Kingdom was found at the border control point of Riga Airport, whose travel document was not valid for travel to the United Kingdom. The person is prohibited from leaving the country.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were found for two persons - one Estonian and one German citizen.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have called to administrative responsibility or prohibited 18 persons from crossing the border - seven from Belarus, two from Lithuania, two from Germany, one from Latvia, one from Azerbaijan, one from Kazakhstan, one from Moldova, one from Poland, one from Tajikistan and one for a Turkish citizen.
