On Sunday, 20 November, State Border Guard officers detected 32 offenders at the external borders and within the country.
22 border offenders were detected at external borders, including:
- 10 foreigners refused entry to Latvia
10 Russian citizens were refused entry to Latvia for security reasons at the Grebneva, Silene, Paternieki and Riga Airport Border Control Points. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- One foreigner was found in breach of residence conditions
One Russian citizen was detected at the Riga Airport Border Control Point who had violated the conditions of stay (overstayed visa) in Schengen area countries. No proceedings were initiated in the case of the Russian citizen.
- One Latvian citizen was refused exit from the country
One Latvian citizen departing for Edinburgh was detected at the Riga Airport Border Control Point and his document was not valid for departure to the United Kingdom. The person has been denied exit from the country.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 10 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - four Belarusian, one Russian, one Lithuanian, one Bosnian and Herzegovinian, one Kyrgyz, one Slovenian and one Ukrainian citizen.
