On Monday, July 22, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 6 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3307 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.

55 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 28 border violators were found on the external borders, including:

• Entry into Latvia was denied to 10 foreigners.

Two Indian citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Grebņeva, Terehova and Riga airport border control points, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, one Russian citizen, because the foreigner did not have a valid visa or residence permit, one Moldovan citizen, because the foreigner did not have valid travel documents, two citizens of Georgia and one citizen of Moldova, because foreigners are prohibited from entering and residenceing in the territory of the Schengen area countries, as well as entry into Latvia was denied to two citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The aforementioned persons were returned to the countries of departure.

• Violations of the conditions of residence were found for 11 foreigners.

Four citizens of Tajikistan, five of Uzbekistan, one of Moldova and one of Mongolia were detected at the border control point of Terekhova, Grebniev and Riga airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa-free regime) Schengen area countries. The aforementioned persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

• Two Latvian citizens have been banned from leaving the country.

At the border control point of Riga airport, one Latvian citizen leaving for Turkey and one for North Macedonia was found, who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent for the child to leave the country. The aforementioned persons are prohibited from leaving the country.

During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for four persons - three Russian and one Italian citizen.

Officials of the State Border Guard have called 23 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - five from Latvia, four from Belarus, two from Russia, two from Lithuania, two from Kazakhstan, two from Moldova, two from Ukraine, one from Israel, one from Romania, one from for one citizen of Uzbekistan and one of Germany.
