On Tuesday, July 23, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 33 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3340 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.

24 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 46 border violators were found on the external borders, including:

• Two foreigners with forged documents were found

At the Pāternieki border control point, one Lithuanian citizen leaving Latvia by car was found to have presented a fake Lithuanian driver's license to the border guards. The person is brought to administrative responsibility. As part of the administrative process, the forged document was removed. On the other hand, one Ukrainian citizen entering Latvia by car was detected at the Pāternieki border control point, who presented a fake Ukrainian vehicle registration certificate to the border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal process, the forged document was removed.

• Enty into Latvia was denied to 11 foreigners

One citizen of Moldova was denied enty into Latvia at the border control point of Grebņeva, Terehova, Pāternieki and Riga airport, because the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, one citizen of Moldova, because the foreigner is prohibited from entering and residing in the territory of the Schengen area countries, two from Moldova, one from Uzbekistan and one Russian citizen, because the foreigners did not have valid travel documents, and three Belarusian and two Russian citizens were denied enty into Latvia due to security reasons. The aforemementioned persons were returned to the countries of departure.

• Violations of the conditions of residence were found for six foreigners

Three citizens of Russia, one of Uzbekistan, one of Ukraine and one of Belarus were found at the Terekhova, Grebneva and Pāternieki border checkpoints, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa-free regime) in the countries of the Schengen area . The proceedings in the case of one Russian citizen's administrative violation were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

• One Latvian citizen is prohibited from leaving the country

At the border control point of Riga Airport, one Latvian citizen leaving for Azerbaijan was found, who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent for the child to leave the country. The person is prohibited from leaving the country.

During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for seven persons - four citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan and one citizen of Estonia.

Officials of the State Border Guard have called 15 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - five Belarusian, three Moldovan, two Estonian, one Latvian, one Lithuanian, one Kyrgyz, one Uzbekistani and one German citizen.
