On Wednesday, July 24, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 14 people from illeggally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3354 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
79 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 38 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents
One Uzbek citizen entering Latvia with a truck and a trailer was found at the Terekhova border control point, who presented a fake Uzbekistan technical inspection certificate to the border guards. The person is brought to administrative responsibility.
• Entry to Latvia was denied to 19 foreigners
Entry into Latvia at the border control points of Grebņeva, Terehova, Pāternieki and Riga airport for three citizens of Azerbaijan, four of Moldova and one of Uzbekistan, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, for one citizen of Moldova and one of Armenia, because foreigners are prohibited from entering and residing in the Schengen area on the territory of the countries, two citizens of Ukraine, because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as entry into Latvia was denied to four citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The aforementioned persons returned to the countries of departure.
• Violations of the conditions of residence were found for 10 foreigners
Three citizens of Russia, three of Uzbekistan, one of Kazakhstan, one of Georgia, one of Ukraine and one of Azerbaijan were found at the border control point of Terekhova, Grebneva and Riga airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the visa-free regime fixed period of residence) in the countries of the Schengen area. Proceedings in the administrative violation case of one Uzbek citizen were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
• One Latvian citizen is prohibited from leaving the country
At the border control point of Riga Airport, one Latvian citizen traveling to the United Kingdom was found, whose travel document is not valid for travel to the United Kingdom. The person is prohibited from leaving the country.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for 22 persons - eight citizens of Lithuania, five citizens of Tajikistan, three citizens of India, two citizens of Poland, two citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Latvia and one citizen of Russia.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 19 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational means of operation - nine citizens of Latvia, three of Belarus, two of Lithuania, one of Estonia, one of Brazil, one of Kazakhstan, one of Moldova and one of Romania.
