On Monday, June 24, State Border Guard officials prevented 0 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 2510 people have been prevented from crossing the border illegally this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
38 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 11 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• Two foreigners with forged documents were found
One Uzbek citizen entering Latvia with a car and a trailer was detected at the Grebņeva border control point, who presented the border guards with fake technical inspection tickets for the Uzbek car and trailer, while at the Riga airport border control point, one Kazakh citizen leaving for Kazakhstan was detected, who presented the border guards with a fake Polish residence permit. The citizen of Uzbekistan has charged administratively, while criminal proceedings have been initiated against the citizen of Kazakhstan. The forged documents have been removed.
• One foreigner was denied entry into Latvia
One Georgian citizen was denied entry into Latvia at the Riga airport border control point because the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence. The person was returned to the country of departure.
• Three foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
One citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Great Britain and one citizen of Uzbekistan were detected at the border control point of Pāternieki and Riga Airport, who had violated the conditions of residence (exceeded the time of residence specified in the visa, did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the time of residence specified in the visa-free regime) in the countries of the Schengen area. The aforementioned persons were administratively charged for the violations.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were found for four persons - two citizens of Estonia, one of Lithuania and one of Nepal.
Officials of the State Border Guard have administratively charged 23 persons or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - 15 citizens of Belarus, two of Latvia, one of Russia, one of Lithuania, one of Azerbaijan, one of Kyrgyzstan, one of Moldova and one of Germany.
