On Tuesday, June 25, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented the attempts of 6 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. A total of 2516 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
42 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 24 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents
One Uzbek citizen entering Latvia with a car and a trailer was detected at the Grebņeva border control point, who presented fake technical inspection tickets for the Uzbek car and trailer to the border guards. The person was administratively charged. The forged documents have been removed. The person is prohibited from entering Latvia.
• Entry into Latvia was denied to 13 foreigners
One citizen of Belarus was denied entry into Latvia at the border control point of Pāternieki, because the foreigner has already stayed in the territory of the Schengen member states for 90 days during the previous 180 days. Three Russian and one Kazakh citizen were denied entry to Latvia at the Grebnieva and Terekhova border checkpoints because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as three Russian, one Moldovan, and one Ukrainian citizen due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• One foreigner was found to have violated the conditions of residence
One Uzbek citizen was found at the border control point in Grebņeva, who had violated the conditions of residence (exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the countries of the Schengen area. The aforementioned person was administratively charged for the violation.
• Departure from the country was denied to one Lithuanian citizen
At the border control point of Riga Airport, one Latvian citizen traveling to Armenia was detected without a valid travel document. The person is prohibited from leaving the country.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for two persons - one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Officials of the State Border Guard have administratively charged 16 persons or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - five citizens of Belarus, two of Latvia, two of Kazakhstan, two of Moldova, two of Germany, one of Lithuania, one of Tajikistan and one of Ukraine.
