On Friday, July 26, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 38 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3408 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
54 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 27 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• Entry into Latvia was denied to four foreigners
One Chinese citizen was denied entry into Latvia at the Riga airport border control point because the foreigner did not have a valid visa or residence permit, while at the Terehova border control point one Moldovan citizen was denied entry into Latvia because the foreigner is prohibited from entering and residing in the territory of the Schengen area countries, and two were denied entry into Latvia for Russian citizens for security reasons. Persons returned to the countries of departure.
• Seven foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
Four citizens of Uzbekistan, one of Kyrgyzstan, one of Georgia and one of Gambia were detected at the border control point of Grebneva and Riga Airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the length of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the length of residence specified in the visa-free regime) in the countries of the Schengen area. Proceedings were not initiated in the case of one Uzbek citizen's administrative violation, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were found for nine persons - eight citizens of Lithuania and one citizen of Estonia.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 18 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - 10 Belarusians, two Moldovans, two Germans, one Kazakhstani, one Polish, one Romanian and one Uzbek citizen.
