On Wednesday, June 26, State Border Guard officials prevented 0 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 2516 people have been prevented from crossing the border illegally this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.

52 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 26 border violators were found on the external borders, including:

• One foreigner was found with forged documents

At the Terehova border control point, one Russian citizen entering Latvia by car was detected, who presented a fake Czech driver's license to the border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal process, the forged document was removed.

• Entry into Latvia was denied to 12 foreigners

Four citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Kazakhstan were denied entry into Latvia at the border control point of Riga Airport, because the foreigners could not substantiate the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, while at the border control point of Terehova and Pāternieki two citizens of Moldova, two of Ukraine and one of Belarus were denied entry to Latvia because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as one Moldovan and one Ukrainian citizen for security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

• Four foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence

Two citizens of Kazakhstan, one of Tajikistan and one of Uzbekistan were found at the border control point of Grebneva and Riga airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the countries of the Schengen area. The aforementioned persons were administratively charged for the violations.

During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for five persons - two citizens of China, one of Estonia, one of Kazakhstan and one of Ukraine.

Officials of the State Border Guard have administratively charged 21 persons or prohibited them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigation equipment - eight from Belarus, two from Latvia, two from Uzbekistan, one from Russia, one from Estonia, one from Lithuania, one from Moldova, one from Romania, one from Finland, one from Tajikistan, one Ukrainian and one German citizen.
