On Saturday, July 27, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 43 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3451 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
44 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 18 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents
One Uzbek citizen entering Latvia with a truck and a trailer was found at the Terehova border control point, who presented a fake Uzbekistani technical inspection card to the border guards. The aforementioned person was brought to administrative responsibility.
• Entry into Latvia was denied to 11 foreigners
Five Moldovan citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Terekhova border control point because the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, as well as one Moldovan citizen because the foreigner did not have a valid travel document, two Russian citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Grebneva border control point because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permits, while one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Ukraine and one citizen of Russia were denied entry into Latvia at the border control points of Pāternieki and Riga Airport due to security reasons. The aforementioned persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• Two foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
At the Terehova and Pāternieki border checkpoints, two Russian citizens were found to have violated the conditions of residence (they did not have a valid visa or residence permit) in the countries of the Schengen area. The aforementioned persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for four persons - one citizen of Estonia, one of Azerbaijan, one of India and one of Ukraine.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 22 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - six citizens of Uzbekistan, five of Belarus, three of Moldova, two of Russia, two of Lithuania, one of Latvia, one of Armenia, one of Bulgaria and one of Tajikistan.
