On Thursday, June 27, officials of the State Border Guard prevented 13 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 2529 people have been prevented from crossing the border illegally this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.

52 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 24 border violators were found on the external borders, including:

• One foreigner was found with forged documents

At the Terehova border control point, a Belarusian citizen leaving Latvia by car was found to have presented a forged Latvian International Vehicle Insurance policy to the border guards. The person is brought to administrative responsibility. The forged document has been removed.

• Nine foreigners were denied entry into Latvia

Two citizens of Georgia, one of India and one of Albania were denied entry into Latvia at the border control point of Riga Airport, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, while one citizen of Moldova, one of Ukraine and one of Belarus was denied entry to Latvia at the border control point of Terehova and Pāternieki because the foreigners did not have valid visas or residence permits, as well as two Serbian citizens, as the foreigners did not have valid travel documents. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

• Four foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence

Two citizens of Uzbekistan, one of Russia and one of Tajikistan were found at the border control point of Grebņeva and Riga airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the countries of the Schengen area. The aforementioned persons were administratively charged for the violations.

• Two persons are prohibited from leaving the country

At the Riga airport border control point, one Latvian citizen traveling to Great Britain was detected, whose travel document was not valid for traveling to Great Britain, while at the Pāternieki border control point, one Latvian citizen traveling to Belarus was detected, who did not have the other parent's notarized authority for the child to leave the country. Persons are prohibited from leaving the country.

During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for seven persons - two citizens of Russia, two of Estonia, two of Lithuania and one of Vietnam.

Officials of the State Border Guard have administratively charged 21 persons or prohibited them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigation equipment - 12 citizens of Belarus, two of Latvia, two of Uzbekistan, two of Moldova, one of Georgia, one of Kazakhstan and one of Kyrgyzstan.
