On Monday, July 29, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 48 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3519 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
36 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 21 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• Entry into Latvia was denied to seven foreigners
One Uzbek citizen was denied entry into Latvia at the Riga airport border control point, because the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, while three Russian citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Terekhova border control point, because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, and one Moldovan citizen, because the foreigner did not have a valid one. travel document, as well as entry into Latvia was denied to two citizens of Ukraine due to security reasons. The aforementioned persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• Five foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
One Tajik and four Uzbek citizens were detected at the border control point of Riga Airport, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the countries of the Schengen area. Proceedings in the administrative violation case of one citizen of Tajikistan were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
• Five Latvian citizens have been banned from leaving the country
One minor Latvian citizen traveling to Cyprus who did not have a valid travel document, as well as four Latvian citizens traveling to Turkey, whose travel documents are not valid for traveling to Turkey, were detected at the border control point of Riga Airport. THe aforementioned persons are prohibited from leaving the country.
During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for one Russian citizen.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 14 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational means of operation - four citizens of Lithuania, two of Belarus, two of Poland, two of Uzbekistan, one of Russia, one of Kazakhstan, one of Kyrgyzstan and one of China.
