On Tuesday, 2nd of August, the State Border Guard officers had detected 55 offenders at the external borders and inside the country.
At the external borders 23 border offenders were detected, including:
- Six foreigners were refused entry to Latvia
At the Terehova, Vientuli, Paternieki and Riga Airport border control points entry into Latvia was refused to two Russian, one Serbian and one Nigerian citizens because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as to two Moldovan citizens, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose of their entry and stay. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- Two foreign nationals were found in breach of the conditions of residence
One Kazakh and one Belarusian citizen were found at the Terehova and Silene border control points in breach of the conditions of residence (overstay of visa, absence of valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen area countries. They were held administratively liable.
- Two persons were refused exit from the country
At the Riga Airport border control point, one Latvian citizen who had been leaving to the United Kingdom, whose document wasn’t valid for departure to the United Kingdom and one Latvian non-citizen who didn’t have a valid travel document (document invalid due to change of surname) were detected. They were refused exit from the country.
Five persons were found in breach of the rules on entry or residence during immigration control measures within the country: two Lithuanian, two Uzbek and one Norwegian citizens.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 27 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - seven Belarusian, seven Latvian, five Russian, two Moldovan, one Estonian, one Mongolian, one Portuguese, one Ukrainian, one German and one Uzbek citizen.
