On Friday, 2 September, State Border Guard officers detected 34 offenders at the external borders and inside the State.
14 border offenders were detected at the external borders, including:
- One wanted person apprehended.
One Latvian citizen departing for Dublin, who is wanted by the police, was detected at Riga Airport border control. The person was detained and handed over to the State Police.
- Four foreign nationals refused entry to Latvia
Two Russian, one Ukrainian and one Israeli citizens were refused entry to Latvia at the Vientuli border control point and at the Riga Airport control point because they did not have a valid visa or residence permit. They were returned to the country of departure
- Three foreigners were found in breach of their residence conditions
Two Uzbek and one Georgian citizens were found at the Riga Airport border control point to have violated the conditions of stay (overstay of visa-free regime, no valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen area countries. They were held administratively liable.
Four persons were found to be in breach of the rules on entry or residence when carrying out immigration control measures within the country: two Uzbek, one Estonian and one Latvian nationals.
State Border Guard officials held 16 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - six citizens of Russia, three of Belarus, two of Estonia, two of Moldova, one of Georgia, one of Kyrgyzstan and one of Serbia - for infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels.
