On Tuesday, July 30, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 81 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3600 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
43 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 20 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents
At the Grebņeva border control point, one Kazakh citizen leaving Latvia was found to have presented a fake Kazakh driver's license to the border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. The fake document has been removed.
• Entry into Latvia was denied to 10 foreigners
One Indian citizen was denied entry into Latvia at the Riga Airport, Pāternieki, Terehova and Grebnieva border control points because the foreigner did not have a valid visa or residence permit, one Moldovan citizen because the foreigner did not have a valid travel document, and three Moldovans, two Russians, and two Ukrainians were denied entry into Latvia. and one citizen of Belarus for security reasons. The aforementioned persons returned to the countries of departure.
• Three foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
At the border control point of Terekhova, Pāternieku and Riga airports, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Belarus and one citizen of Azerbaijan were found to have violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa-free regime) in the countries of the Schengen area. The proceedings in the case of an administrative violation of an Azerbaijani citizen were not initiated, the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
• One Latvian citizen is prohibited from leaving the country
One Latvian citizen traveling to Belarus who did not have a valid travel document was detected at the Pāternieki border control point. The person is prohibited from leaving the country.
During immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for 11 persons - four citizens of Uzbekistan, two of Ukraine, two of Tajikistan, one of Mauritania, one of Iran and one of Lithuania.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 12 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - four citizens of Belarus, two of Latvia, two of Lithuania, two of Uzbekistan, one of Russia and one of Kyrgyzstan.
