On Wednesday, 3rd of August, the State Border Guard officers had detected 56 offenders at the external borders and inside the country.
At the external borders 22 border offenders were detected, including:
- Nine foreigners were refused entry to Latvia
At the Terehova, Ventspils Units and Riga Airport border control point entry into Latvia was refused to four Russian, and one Belarusian citizen because the foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as to two Moldovan citizens, because the foreigners could not justify the purpose of their entry and stay, and to two citizens of the Syrian Arab Republic because the foreigners did not have a valid travel document. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- Eight foreign nationals were found in breach of the conditions of residence
Four Ukrainian, two Russian and two Georgian citizens were found at the Terehova, Grebneva and Riga Airport border control points to have violated the conditions of stay (overstay of visa or visa-free regime, absence of valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen area countries. No administrative proceedings were initiated against two citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Georgia, the others were held administratively liable.
Five persons were found in breach of the rules on entry or residence during immigration control measures within the country - three Finnish, one Lithuanian and one Estonian citizen.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 29 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - eight Belarusian, six Latvian, four Estonian, three Russian, two German, one Lithuanian, one Kyrgyz, one Moldovan, one Polish, one Finnish and one Tajik citizen.
