On Saturday, August 3, the officials of the State Border Guard prevented 28 people from illegally crossing the Latvia – Belarus border. In total 3700 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 people were not prevented from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total of 12 people have been admitted this year for humanitarian reasons.
48 offenders were found on the external borders and inside the country. 19 border violators were found on the external borders, including:
• One foreigner was found with forged documents
One Uzbek citizen entering Latvia who presented a fake technical inspection certificate of an Uzbek car to the border guards was detected at the Pāternieki border control point. The person is brought to administrative responsibility. Technical inspection certificate withdrawn.
• Entry into Latvia was denied to nine foreigners
One citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine and one citizen of Kazakhstan were denied entry into Latvia at the border control point of Terekhova, Grebnieva, Paternieki and Riga airports, because the foreigners did not have a valid visa and residence permit, one Indian citizen, because the foreigner did not have a valid travel document, one Indian citizen, because the foreigner could not substantiate the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, and one Russian and two Ukrainian citizens were denied entry into Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• Six foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of residence
Two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, one of Moldova, one of Ukraine, one of Uzbekistan and one of Azerbaijan were found at the border control point of Terekhova, Pāternieku and Riga airports, who had violated the conditions of residence (did not have a valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa, exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa-free regime) in Schengen countries. The persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
During the implementation of immigration control measures within the country, violations of the rules of entry or residence were found for seven persons - two citizens of Latvia, two of Estonia, one of Moldova, one of Finland and one of Ukraine.
Officials of the State Border Guard have called 22 persons to administrative responsibility or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicles and navigational equipment - eight citizens of Belarus, three Moldovans, three Ukrainians, two Lithuanians, two Azerbaijanis, one Russian, one Kazakh, one Uzbekistani and one German.
