On Sunday, February 4, officials of the State Border Guard did not detect any attempts to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border by persons, while a total 5 persons have been stopped from illegally crossing the state border during this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

6 trespassers were detected at external borders, including: entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners. At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen Member States during the previous 180 days. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 11 persons – four citizens of Syria, two – of Estonia, two - of India, two – of Morocco and one – of Yemen.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, four – of Latvia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Belgium and one – of Kazakhstan.
