On Monday, February 5, officials of the State Border Guard did not detect any attempts to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border by persons, while a total 5 persons have been stopped from illegally crossing the state border during this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Iran, who presented to border guards a forged passport and ID card, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated, the forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; while at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kirgizstan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and six - of Uzbekistan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, three citizens of Latvia leaving the country, who were not in possession of valid travel documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of United Arab Emirates, one – of Democratic Republic of the Congo and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Romania and one – of Germany.
