On Wednesday, March 6, 5 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 172 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 1 person has been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country.
11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards a forged International Vehicle Insurance Policy for a car and trailer, was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document, as well as to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kirgizstan and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, one - of India and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Ukraine, two – of Moldova, two - of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Italia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Serbia.
