On Monday, 8th of August, the State Border Guard officers had detected 57 offenders at the external borders and inside the country.
At the external borders 26 border offenders were detected, including:
- Seven foreigners refused entry to Latvia
At the Terehova and Riga Airport border control points, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia and one citizen of the United Kingdom were refused entry to Latvia because they did not have a valid visa or residence permit and three citizens of Russia because they could not justify the purpose of their entry and stay. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- Nine foreigners were found in breach of their residence conditions
At the Grebneva and Riga Airport border control points, six Russian, one Uzbek, one Tajik and one Albanian citizens were found to have violated the conditions of residence (no valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen area countries. No administrative proceedings were initiated against three Russian nationals, the others were held administratively liable.
In the course of immigration control measures within the country, seven persons were found to be in breach of the rules on entry or residence - four Lithuanian, two Ukrainian and one Uzbek citizen.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials held 24 persons administratively liable or refused to cross the border - six Russian, four Belarusian, four Latvian, three Moldovan, two Lithuanian, one Estonian, one Uzbek and one Ukrainian citizens.
