On Thursday, 9th of August, the State Border Guard officers had detected 51 offenders at the external borders and inside the country.
At the external borders 25 border offenders were detected, including:
- 14 foreigners refused entry to Latvia
At the Terehova border control point, 13 Russian and one Ukrainian citizen were refused entry to Latvia because they did not have a valid visa or residence permit. They were returned to the country of departure.
- One foreigner was found in breach of the residence conditions
One Ukrainian citizen was found at the Grebneva border control post in breach of the conditions of residence (no valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen area countries. The person was held administratively liable.
Three persons - two Russian and one Ukrainian citizen - were found in breach of the rules of entry or residence during immigration control measures within the country.
For infringements in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials called to administrative liability or prevented from crossing the border 23 persons - six Belarusian, four Ukrainian, three Latvian, two Ukrainian, two Kazakh, two Moldovan, two Uzbek, one Bulgarian and one Kyrgyz citizen.
