On Saturday, April 1, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents.

The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners

two citizens of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus were detected at the Vientuļi, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Russia and one – of Estonia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, two - of Latvia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova.
