On Sunday, April 14, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1137 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country.
23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entered Latvia with lorry, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan vehicle roadworthiness certificate, was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability and returned to the country of departure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the preceding 180 days on the territory of the Schengen Member States; while at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents, as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova, one – of Rumania and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Belarus were detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, two – of Russia, one – of Latvia, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kazakhstan and one - of Uzbekistan.
