On Sunday, April 2, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 60 offenders at external borders and within the country.
32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Pāternieki, the Silene, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. One more citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Kutaisi, who did not have at least one parent's notarized consent for the child's independent departure from the country was detected, while at the Silene Border Control Point, one Latvian citizen leaving Latvia, who did not have a valid travel document, was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Estonia, two – of Lithuania and one – of Belarus.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, four - of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Germany, one – of Israel, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
