On Monday, April 22, 17 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1352 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 1 person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards a forged Montenegrin International Vehicle Insurance Policy, was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to one citizen of Moldova and four - of Ukraine, due to security reasons. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of India and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Israel, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the preceding 180 days on the territory of the Schengen Member States. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizens of Kazakhstan was not initiated, the citizen of Uzbekistan was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Russia, two – of India and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 14 citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Croatia, one – of Israel, one – of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
