On Sunday, April 28, 35 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1524 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country.
16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document, to one citizen of Russia as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizen of Kazakhstan was not initiated, the citizen of Kyrgyzstan was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of Lithuania and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 32 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, four – of Latvia, three – of Lithuania, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Turkey, one – of Russia, one – of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Hungary and one – of Germany.
