On Saturday, August 10, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3765 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 64 offenders at external borders and within the country.
34 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigners with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Belarus leaving Latvia with a vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Kirgizstan vehicle roadworthiness test certificate, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 19 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to four citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Philippines and three – of Cuba, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and two – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Belarus and one - of Russia were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Moldova, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent for the child to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - four citizens of Lithuania, one – of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, three – of Kazakhstan, three – of Mongolia, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Romania.
