On Tuesday, August 13, 33 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3871 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 36 offenders at external borders and within the country.
9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Ukraine (female) was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - three citizens of Lithuania, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Romania, one – of Spain, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of China.
