On Monday, August 15, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 42 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for six foreigners
at "Terehova", "Vientuļi", "Silene" and "Riga" Airport border control points, entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Pakistan, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. Persons were returned to the country of their exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by five foreigners
at "Grebņeva", "Terehova" and "Riga" Airport border control points three citizens of Ukraine and two citizens of Uzbekistan who have violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa, no valid visa or residence permit) were detected. The proceedings in the case of an administrative violation of one citizen of Uzbekistan were not initiated; other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five citizens of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 people were subjected to administrative liability or refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia—five citizens of Latvia, four citizens of Ukraine, three citizens of Russia, three citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Austria, one citizen of Kirgizstan, and one citizen of Moldova.
