On Friday, August 19, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 47 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

20 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for two foreigners

at „Terehova”, „Grebņeva” and „Silene” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Montserrat, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Belarus, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. Persons were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by seven foreigners

at “Grebņeva”, “Vientuļi”, “Pāternieki”, “Terehova” and “Riga” airport border control points, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Moldova, who have violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime) were detected.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at “Silene” border control point, one citizen of Latvia, who was not in possession of a valid travel document, and one minor citizen of Latvia who did not have parents’ notarized consent to leave the country independently, were detected. Persons are prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven persons - four citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Lithuania, and one citizen of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Belarus, five citizens of Latvia, four citizens of Russia, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Hungary.
