On Monday, August 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3913 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Romania leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Spanish driving licence, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of USA, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia and one – of Estonia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners
two citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Chile were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens – of Russia, one - of Yemen, one - of Syria and one – of Vietnam.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Israel and one – of Kazakhstan.
