On Thursday, August 22, 7 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3996 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 54 offenders at external borders and within the country.
33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, two citizens of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicles and trailers, who presented to border guards forged Montenegro International Vehicle Insurance Policies, were detected. The persons were subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Syria two - of Russia and one – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Moldova, due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 13 foreigners
nine citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Belarus, who was not in possession of valid travel document, and at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Turkey, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent for the child to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - three citizens of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Moldova, two - of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of France, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Ukraine.
