On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 67 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 16 foreigners
at „Terehova”, „Vientuļi”, „Silene”, and „Riga” airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused for 11 citizens of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay; three citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of the USA, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. Persons were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
at “Terehova” border control point, two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Mongolia, who had violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime) were detected. The proceedings in the case of one Ukrainian citizen’s administrative violation were not initiated; other persons are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at “Silene” border control point, one citizen of Latvia without valid a travel document, as well as “Riga” airport border control point, one citizen of Latvia leaving for Aberdeen, whose document was not valid for emigration to Great Britain, was detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by nine persons - three citizens of Uzbekistan, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Estonia, one citizen of France, and one citizen of Finland.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 31 person were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Belarus, five citizens of Moldova, four citizens of Russia, four citizens of Lithuania, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Greece, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
