On Thursday, August 25, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for four foreigners
at „Terehova” and „Pāternieki” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia as persons were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. Persons were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
at “Grebņeva”, “Terehova” and Airport “Riga” border control points, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Moldova, and one citizen of Uzbekistan, who had violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime) were detected. The proceedings in the case of one Ukrainian citizen’s administrative violation were not initiated; other persons are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document (surname has changed) was detected. Person was prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by six persons - three citizens of Tajikistan, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Iraq.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 29 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - 10 citizens of Belarus, five citizens of Ukraine, four citizens of Russia, two citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Belgium, one citizen of Georgia, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Moldova one citizen of Germany, and one citizen of Estonia.
