On Monday, August 26, 4 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4029 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner has a ban to entry the territory of the Schengen States; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners
two citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, leaving the country for Belarus, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent for the child to leave the country, and at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia leaving the country, who were not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - one citizen of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Philippines.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
