On Saturday, August 27, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 49 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

11 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three foreigners

at “Terehova” and “Grebņeva” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova as foreigner could not justify purpose and circumstances of his travel and stay, one citizen of Uzbekistan as foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, and one citizen of Moldova as foreigner as foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen zone countries. Persons were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by four foreigners

at “Terehova”, “Grebņeva”, “Silene” and Airport “Riga” border control points, two citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Russia, who had violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, no valid visa or residence permit) were detected. Persons are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at “Pāternieki” border control point, two citizens of Latvia leaving Latvia without valid travel documents were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven persons - four citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Lithuania, and one citizen of Russia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 31 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Belarus, six citizens of Ukraine, five citizens of Latvia, four citizens of Russia, four citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of France, one citizen of Greece, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Germany.
