On Friday, August 30, 15 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 40895 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 67 offenders at external borders and within the country.
28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus and three – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one – of Ukraine and two – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to three citizens of Moldova and two – of Georgia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one - of Moldova, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Serbia and one – of Syria were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were held administratively liable.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Russia, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent for the child to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 15 persons - seven citizens of Tajikistan, two – of Latvia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of India, one – of Mauritania, one – of Mexica, one – of Nigeria and one – of Uzbekistan
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five – of Latvia, four – of Moldova, three – of Russia, two – of Azerbaijan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania and one – of Uzbekistan.
