On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 19 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for two foreigners
at „Terehova” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused for two citizens of Moldova as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. Persons were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by five foreigners
at „Terehova”, „Vientuļi” and Airport „Riga” border control points, three citizens of Ukraine and two citizens of Moldova, who had violated conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime) were detected. Proceedings were not initiated in the case of an administrative violation of both citizens of Georgia; other persons are subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 14 persons - four citizens of Great Britain, three citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Estonia, one citizen of Brazil, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Russia, four citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Romania, one citizen of Serbia, one citizen of Tajikistan, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Germany.
